Hi guys! So I have a macbook with 12GB of music on it, and i'm wondering how i can get that music onto my new iMac! I was thinking that I could take my itunes folder, transfer it to my external HD. Then in my new iMac i would delete the folder named itunes, and replace it with the one which would be in the external HD (from the macbook).

thats how I usually do it. after you drop the folder just go to "add to library" in itunes and click the folder.
It should work perfect. Make sure you copy all of the folders in the iTunes folder. On the new Mac delete everything inside the iTunes folder and paste the old ones in there. When you start iTunes up it should read everything like it has always been there. I have never had to add anything to the library.
