iPod touch How to get music from your iTunes to itouch...

I just got my iTouch today.... I downloaded the new iTunes from Apple and I plugged my touch into the computer. All of my songs and stuff didn't transfer to my iTouch.

What do I do?

I have a 2 or 3 year old HP pavilion ze4900.

Another thing I forgot to mention... I don't really know how to explain it.

You know when you open iTunes and on the very left of it, they have Library (music, movies, etc), Store, Playlists, etc.... When I pug in my touch a new one comes up labeled "Devices." And under that tab there is "iPod."

When I click on that it says: "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW IPOD! Lets get started. 1. Register your iPod. 2. Set up your iTunes store account."
