How to get my podcasts to sync between devices?

Hey guys,

I am having trouble getting my podcasts to sync between my iPhone and iTunes on my desktop/laptop. I have the "sync" option enabled on the phone and am logged into the same account on the desktop. What do I need to do to get everything to sync across my devices?

As far as I can tell, it still doesn't sync correctly with iTunes using iCloud. Playback position does seem to sync, but for some reason the blue dots do not update and the podcasts are not marked as played in iTunes.

Of course, directly syncing with iTunes still works, either via a cable or iTunes Wifi Sync, but that defeats the purpose of the new Podcasts app to me.
