This is not fraud. You are paying for the replacement

I am RMA to intel not newegg. Intel said I could keep old one if I wanted and would be charged for the new one.

So you tell intel that your X-25m is faulty, when it is not, and they hold $250 from your CC. They ship you the new replacement, and you keep both?

That, my friend, is fraud.

Also, as intel is sending you something via the mail, and you are not honest in how you are procurring this item, it is now mail-fraud, and that is quite a Federal crime you just broke.

G/L with that!

[edit]I am not saying you are going to jail, but I would not be going down this path.[/edit]

You should get your info correct before accusing people

Firstly, I am not defrauding anyone.

My drive is defective because it does not work with bootcamp.

They recommended the RMA

I am not keeping my old drive. I am sending it back.

I was just making an observation. I never said I was doing this.

Well then, be more clear about you intentions in your posts. The first post reads very much like a set of instructions on how to defraud Intel and/or newegg so as to get an x-25m for much cheaper than you should be able to.

When that is how you word your thread, don't be surprised or offended if people accuse you of being less than honest...

If in fact your x-25m was defective, and you went this route, would'nt you actually be paying the initial price you paid for the x-25m, plus $280 for the replacement?

That puts it quite a bit more than the current retail cost, and leaves you with 1 working, and 1 defective drive, for the near-cost of 2.

This is why costs go up for all of us. Glad to think some people are so willing to defraud to save some money.

You're absolutely certain it doesn't work? Because I've read reviews of people who have gotten it to work.

You may not be doing so, but your earlier posts gave no indication of what you were really doing. Bad idea.
