Is there a smooth way to use .ogg files in FCPX?

I have XiphQT on my system, which purports to let quicktime-enabled apps to natively play them (and, indeed, I can play an assortment of .ogg files directly in QT and preview them from finder by hitting the spacebar), but this when I try to drag'n'drop one into a project (or go through the import dialogue), I am stymied.

I seem unable to import any .ogg files into iTunes, which I think it's supposed to be able to do, as well. (My dark and sinister plan was to import them into iTunes, and then use the media browser in fcpx.)

If there is no smooth way to use .ogg files directly, is there a smooth way to batch convert them into something else? While maintaining directory structure? To something other than .wav (pref. .aiff so they stay small-ish but degrade the quality that much).

If it helps, the source files were all extracted from World of Warcraft .MPQs. The old sound files were all in .wav format, while the new ones no longer are.

edit:
I just tried a program called "Switch", which seemed promising to let me do a rather tidy bit of batch conversion, but was greeted with what would have been 33k+ popup windows informing me that "oggdec" doesn't work because it's a powerpc thing, or something.

Did I mention I'm using Lion? Isn't it awesome that Rosetta's gone? *grumble*
