Hi!

I have the black macbook from 2006. But recently the hard disk broke and i was in the local apple store to fix it. When I got it back, it came without an operating system? and since apple doesnt offer OS on cd's and only on app store (WHICH SUCKS!) I have no idea what to do.. i have installed windows on it which also sucks alot..

Please help!

by the way, which OSX would suit my macbook most, leopard, snow, lion, or mountain? Thanks

you can call apple and they will sell you the DVDs for the version that shipped with the MacBook. You can still find retail DVDs for older versions. Beware of grey restore DVDs unless they are shipped to you from Apple.

For now in my opinion, the most stable so far is either Snow Leopard or Lion. You can choose either one and they work great. If you are to choose Mountain Lion, I think you need to wait for any further updates because now ML is suffering from performance issues (predominantly the battery issue)

You can choose to go to any apple store and get a copy of yours. :D
