I have an iPhone 3GS 32MB and I put it in RESTORE mode but I have been totally unsuccessful getting it out of this mode. Just to be clear, the screen shows a USB cable and an arrow pointing up toward an iTunes logo.

I've tried to get it out of this mode by holding down the home button and the ON/OFF button but the phone just loops back into this mode. Anyone have any ideas as to what else I can do?

Thanks in advance.

Mac or PC? For Mac I was able to get out of the recovery loop using iRecover.

You're not connected to iTunes when you try to reboot are you?

No. Well, I've tried it with the cable connected to the computer and also unconnected. When it's connected, it reboots and it auto-launches iTunes and goes right back into RESTORE mode. When disconnected from the computer it just reboots right back into RESTORE mode.

I have both Mac and PC but have been primarily working on the Mac. I will look into using iRecover. Thanx!
