How to get photos from iMessage

Hi, i didnt know where else to really post this. Hopefully you guys can help. I want to get archive photos that have been sent in iMessage. Is there a software or way i can look in iCloud to retrieve them?

I have a windows laptop.

If they're still in iMessage on your phone, click on photo > "Send to" button on lower left hand corner > "Save Image" which saves to camera roll. Import as usual.

If you have the message you can get them. If you don't have the message its gone.
