I just had a nasty shock and discovered that years ago when I converted my iPhoto library to Photos it lost about 3 years of the original master photos. There was no idication of this as all the thumbnails are there and there was no warning.
Unlike lightroom there don't appear to be any icons or warnings on the pics to indicate it can not find the original file.
Is there any way to get Photos to show which files are missing? I would like to have something definitive like a cross or question mark on each pic thumbnail if it can't find a source file.
(luckily I have a back up of these master files but I still need to know which ones in the lib to delete and reimport.)
