Ok, I've long had this problem and it's only on my iPad. I guess I'm finally frustrated enough with this problem I'd like to find a solution.

In the Contacts app for my iPad, there is a list that is for the iPad only. The problem is this is the list that the iPad defaults to whenever I create a new contact. I don't want an iPad-only contact list. My Contact list is on iCloud which is then shared across all three of my devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac). There's no way to delete this list (that I know of), and there's no way to tell the Contacts app to default to the iCloud list.

You'll see from the screenshot that the iPhone contact list does not have an iPhone-only list, but the iPad contact list does have an iPad-only contact list. I can't find a setting to turn off the use of the iPad contact list. I can't even delete it!

Do you have any tips?

Below is how it looks on the iPhone; there isn't a list just for iPhone:
