Hi Guys,

I know there are scores of video online which tell you how to get the best out of your MacBook, which includes some settings as well, but I have hardly found any video which talks about what settings and changes to be made so that your battery back up on your MacBook give you the best battery back up. Anyone has any such videos to share I would really appreciate it.

TIA

How long can your device go on without charging. Battery Staying Capacity.
Basically you’re asking what kind of battery runtime people are getting.

I have an M2 Air and I only plug it in when I’m not using it. I use it for at most four hours at one sitting. I haven’t tested how long I can go before it runs out of power.

Also battery life depends on what you’re doing. If you’re browsing the web it’s going to take far less energy than video editing or gaming

So yes, aren't there any settings to increase the battery strength capacity by making some changes in the settings? just like you do on the phone, for example where you restrict background refreshing of the apps on the phone, that kind of thing?

Turning on low power mode helps but on my M2 it feels less responsive. I don’t know if it has the same effect on the newer M3 and M4 models. Also as the poster above said screen brightness is the biggest factor.

If you’re going to be somewhere where you won’t have an outlet for days get an external power bank. They make larger ones that would power a MacBook for a very long time.
