I'm a huge fan of Apple products and own a number of them but have never pulled the trigger on the watch simply because it lacked the cellular option. I have now pre-ordered one. How does one get the full benefits/features of the watch?

Thank you in advance.

Apple used to have a bunch of tutorial videos on their website when the Apple Watch first launch. If you search Apple Watch tutorial videos on YouTube, you should be able to locate those.

How does one get the full benefits/features of the watch?
Step 1. Put the phone away.
Step 2. Do everything via the watch, but don't expect it to do everything your phone does (like mix music tracks or edit movies).

Optional: During setup, let it auto-install all compatible apps from your current stash, then try them all out. You'll easily figure out which ones are useful and which ones aren't. I've tried several third-party camera apps on the watch, for example, but uninstalled all but one (SlowShutter, which puts a shutter trigger on the watch -- great for remotely "opening and closing" the camera shutter for long exposures).
