How to get the BEST video quality from iMovie?? -need a fast replay-

so i have this widescreen .avi movie"casino royal.."...whats the best possible format i can export it to in iMovie to get the best playback on a big LCD 40'' ??

i tried "Full Quality" option..but the result was a bad quality video and is NOT wide screen "black bars on right and left" ..

thanks for any help !

note: i dont care how big the final movie is..
