how to get the "S" for the 3gs in sig

What do you mean Ubuntu doesn't recognize it? I'm in 9.04 right now and the S⃣ shows up just fine for me. If it doesn't show up for you, that'd be a problem with FF (or whatever you're using), not Ubuntu.
