how to get timestamps and username displayed in ichat?

I want username and timestamps displayed in ichat, as they are in AIM (for each line of chatting). Is this possible?

I don't want to log my conversations. But I want to be able to copy them and have it clear who is saying what, without extensive formatting and typing being necessary.

I don't want to use AIM because it's an ugly application, lacks other features, and has a tendency to crash for me. I don't want to use Adium or such because IME, it's more difficult to transfer files to people with 3rd party IM apps.

I believe that this is selectable in iChat's preferences.

If not, I suggest downloading a skin for iChat called Chax, it allows you to customize the look much more, and has tabbed chats.

I couldn't find it in preferences, maybe I am overlooking something?

I also just dl'ed Chax, and while I love the tabs, it doesn't provide those features I most want, at least not from what I can tell.

I'd like to see the time stamps on all my bubbles in iChat too.

While that does not seem to be possible, I did find out that if one hovers the pointer over a bubble the time and date will appear. That is good enough for me.
