Hi,

How are you? I hope doing very well : ) !!!

I want to buy the current 11" MBA, but my
budget is a bit tight at the moment. I wish
I can get an 11" MBA for a price below $750

I have heard that in coming days Apple may
bring out the new 12" MBA or they may
just dos some updates on the 11" MBA.
However, as I mentioned, I'd be fine with
the current model, but at a lower price.

If there is an update, where should I be
looking for the 'previous models' in coming
days, and do you have any guess of the
prices one may be finding in coming days??

Thank you very much, kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

Apple typically moves the older inventory to the refurb store and reduces the price around 12 to 14%. I'm not sure if that fits your budget needs.

Also look at amazon and BestBuy (which may have open box specials).

Hi,

Thank you for your answer : ) !!!

Today is the 24th and no update
yet! No update, no drop in price!

I'll wait and see what happens!

Kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

Try perusing through Amazon's used listings. I was able to pick up a used 2014 11" MBA for $650 a few weeks ago. Just make sure to check that the seller has an good rating/reputation.

Hi,

Thank you for your post : ) !!!

I am already looking through
amazon and the cheapest used
one is $760 and without the AC
chord : ( !!! Last week a bit
cheaper, but the seller had no
enough good references, but
many negative ones.

It is already March 2nd and un-
fortunately I see no update or up-
date sign from Apple : ( !!!
(Neither a substantial price drop !!!!)

Kind regards,

igmolinav : ) !!!

Not a bad price, but as I mentioned
earlier in the thread:

"I wish I can get an 11" MBA for a

Just wait until after next Monday

After reading several articles it is my understanding they will come out with an update after they announce the watch. That might be the new retina 12" or just a dump up in specs for the 2015 or both. I can see them annouce the 12" but also keep a cheaper model like the current 2014 or a small update to the 2015, like they are doing with the MBP.

Either way the 2013's and 2014's should drop in price and used ones flood ebay and craigslist and of course amazon. I am waiting looking for a great deal on a 2013.

Hi,

When do you expect that they'll come out with it more or less?

Kind regards,

How long after they announce the watch - three or four months? ;)

The price effect you describe is unlikely. The 2013 and 2014 MBAs are very sought after machines that are very capable. If (huge if) Apple actually introduces the rMBA 12" next week, and if it has a Core M chip, and if (another huge if) Apple discontinues both of the current MBAs, you could see prices on the 2013 and 2014 MBAs go up as people scramble to buy "the last true MBA." That is what happened with the 2012 Minis when Apple introduced the 2014 version.

Hi,

Thank you for your message : ) !!!

The early 2014 MBAs' may not be as coveted
as the just updated MBAs'. In the former
ones I would expect a price drop. It is the
latter ones people may be more interested
in. I am expecting a price drop in the early
2014 models. These models are not the
very last ones! However, I don't see a price
drop yet. Do you??

Kind regards,

Your premise was never likely and hasn't materialized for new machines. It looks like refurbished prices for the 2014 and 2013 MBA models have come down today, though, at least in the US store.

If you have clean credit, Apple or any retailer should have a pay-in-6/12-month, no interest.

Buying used, you are looking at an unknown used battery.

As mentioned about 12-14% discount on refurb is all you can expect. There are no cheap Macs. Borrow, work a second shift, whatever you have to do. ^)

Check out the refurb section now they have a 11 inch refurb for 679. I am not sure if student discounts work on em though.
