How to hide app menu icons (not menubar icons)

Inspired by another thread where I was needlessly complaining (I like to do that, it's the Internet, yes?) about the icons in the menus, I was wondering if anyone has created a way to get rid of the icons in the menus. I don't need 10 different icon variants of "new", just the text will do fine.

It looks like Apple has gone so far as to "force" icons onto the menus in third-party apps, when they can "guess" which one to put there. https://weblog.rogueamoeba.com/2026/01/10/removing-tahoes-unwanted-menu-icons/

If Rogue Amoeba had to update their apps to remove these icons, I don't think there is a way for the end user to do it on their own :-\

There's no way to remove them AFAIK, but tbh, they eventually you'll stop noticing them, provided you stop focusing on how much you hate them
