I am running a file server with several hundred users. The clients iMacs are running Mavericks and I've noticed a problem with login. In preferences under Display login window as they are set to "Name and password" as opposed to "List of users", however in the login screen a list of network users are displayed. I just prefer to have no user shown, but just a place to enter the user name and password manually. Is this a bug or something I didn't do right? By the way the file server is a Mac Pro running Mountain Lion, do you think upgrading the server to Mavericks could solve this issue.
Another issue is if the user icons are shown, how do I get to guest account? Do I have to scroll down all the way the last user and click "Others.." then type guest?
