Is there an adapter available that will permit the connection of
the 24-inch LED Cinema display to a Mac Pro with a DVI connection
at the end of its cable?

Does the adapter do the job well?

Thanks

Huge bummer.

I suppose all of this pends on a third party manufacturer coming
up with an adapter?

Yes "all" you need is an adapter. The problem is DVI and DisplayPort are different signal types. This means that the adapter would have to include special signal converting circuitry/processor making it a rather expensive ~$100+ adapter.

I believe Apple is tranistioning all there products from DVI to DisplayPort.

DisplayPort is the future. I am willing to bet the next Mac Pro will have a Display Port output.

They are already making some video cards with DisplayPort for Windoze
