Omg too late... I was tried to delete it, and after, the device stuck on pineapple icon...

newbs don't trust newbs. ;) Newbs don't try to give advice if you don't what you are talking about!

have you saved shsh blobs so you can downgrade4 to 5.0 or 5.0.1 and is it really worth all the work to you?

There is currently no way to get Siri on non-iPhone 4S' running iOS 5.1 at this time. And the creator of the Spire package is not going to be updating it for iOS 5.1 and newer firmware versions.

It's a legal question, apple "accidentally" left the door open in the 9A406 update on the 4S, the ramdisk in the package was not encrypted, therefore dev's could legally access the Siri files and create Spire for 5.01.

Someone told me that Siriport works on it... (5.1) what do you think? I'm not a newbie :) just never had Siri on iPhone.. so... :)

Spire

i downloaded Spire on my iphone4 but it needs a proxy and i dont know anything abt it...
how to get a good proxy or any other info will be welcomed...

It costs money :) looking for free one... I guess I'll have to wait till a new one comes out...

Spite costs money ?

Or are you referring to a Siri proxy.

Most report that a 'free' Siri proxy is unreliable and worse do not work.

I'm using spire on my iPhone 4 and using the Siri proxy from imzdl.

I paid for a years use for $20 , £12 in my money.

This is not alot of money in my opinion for a stable service.

I can only advise on the one ive been currently using for a few months.

Imzdl

Their is a thread on here about them.

$20 for a years subscription.

They e mail you with 2 links.

Open it up on your iPhone.
1st link is their certificate.
2nd link are their 8 servers.

After you've downloaded it all in to your iPhone then either copy and paste the proxy or just type it into spires proxy host field. Obviously choose the proxy nearest to where you live.

Turn on Siri and off you go.

There are also several tweaks to improve the Siri experience.

The only thing that does not work is raise to ear as the iphone 4 sensir dies not continually fire luke the 4s dies but a few tweaks exist such as hands free to help with that.

I've had no real issues with service from them apart from when apple decided to be difficult but after a delete of a plist file using ifile all was good.

Siri is around 80% effective in my usage.

You can also follow them on Facebook under the SiriZone name for updates etc.

I've e mailed them twice to ask questions and got next working day replies.

You could try using ifile to delete the plist.

Siri reset.*
Use ifile
Go to var/mobile/library/preferences
Delete file : *com.apple.assistant.plist

The problem with free Siri proxies are that they are not supported as much as the paid ones.

This is why your getting the typical response from Siri.

$20 will get you a much more stable service or just keep trying with the free one.

Spire is the best programme to use as long as your not on 5.1.

Spite is in beta stages and reported as being glitchy.

There is an alternative to spire that works flawless on 5.1 just google "Sara" and you need to follow the easy instructions and bam you will have a google api version of siri that works just the same. Without the whole proxy server. I how ever am not sure if it will run on a 3gs you might want to read up on it, to see if this works for your phone.

Yeah, I use Sara, it works fine with minor bugs but still it's not bad. Btw Spire works only on 5.0.1 on non-4s devices :)
