How to import albums from iPad to Mac through iPhoto?

When I connect my iPad to my Mac iPhotos pops up. When I click on the import tab it shows all of my photos that are on my iPad. However, I want to import albums, not import photos and then have to regroup them into albums as they are already grouped on the iPad. Is this possible?
