Hi All

I'm intending to buy Logic Studio to produce some songs that we are recording in the studio using Cubase. Songs will be 16 track audio.

How would I go about importing the songs into Logic, is there a standard interchange format between music programs or do I just dump them as WAV's? Obviously there must be some kind of synchonisation to take care of etc.?

Cheers

Both Logic and Cubase support OMF files (Open Media Framework Interchange ) but this method is a bit hit and miss and only works with your audio regions not any mix data. You just export your Cubase song as an OMF file and then import it into a new Logic session. If this fails you can manually export all your cubase tracks as WAV files making sure they all start at Bar 1.

Thanks mate - I was planning to take the raw data not any production information so in theory that should work.
