Before installing Windows thru Bootcamp you have 2 choices: the 32 GB one or the entire remaining HD.

How could I assign, say, 40 GB for the Windows partition though?

In that same windows there is a scale like thing where you can adjust the size of the hard drive you want to use for windows .. so you can chose any amount of space you wish .

There will be a small dot in between the Mac OSX partition and the Windows partition, click and hold that black box and then you drag the Windows partition size either left which would make the Windows partition larger or right which would make the Windows partition smaller. Hope this solves it.

btw does anyone know of a program like smc fancontrol for the windows version? i feel like overclocking my nvidia but cant if my fan cant handle it.
