How to install GRUB?

So, I'm trying to install the Grub 2 Bootloader, but I don't really see where I'm supposed to put the files that came in the .Zip. I googled around and everything says to put it in the first "boot" portion of the Hard Drive, which just sounds like gibberish to me.

Any help would be very VERY much appreciated.

Running Windows Vista Home Prem. btw.

i'm new to this forum but i have a funny feeling you're asking in the wrong forum. i had grub running with ubuntu before i uninstalled it, but i'd ask on a linux/grub forum if i wanted to get help with grub on a vista home premium install.
