Ok i have a powermac g4 "gigabit ethernet" i need step by step instructions on how to do this. I opened it up and it looks like i CANT get the heat sink off. please help me PLEASE!
 
Uhhh...
1. Why do you need to install a new proc?
2. Do you have another G4 proc you bought somewhere?

The upgrade vendor included the instructions in the box. Read them.

My only advice here is: calm down and don't do anything before you know what you're doing. As MisterMe already pointed out, if you have a processor upgrade there, read the instructions.
 
To get the heatsink off:

Take a saw and cut a square around the logicboard (aka motherboard) and the whole thing will fall out in your hands! Then just replace it with the new one!

Simple! :p
