How to install on OSX Lion the Mail-Application on an external HD

I always want to have my DATA on an external HD. Due to the fact that Eudora is not supported anymore on OSX Lion, I want to switch to Apple Mail. Can anyone help me, how to install my E-Mail accounts on my external HD ?
