I have just recently ordered a macbook pro, & have a pc with the only internet conncetion to it. So I have downloaded it to a thumb drive to transfer to the macbook pro, how do I install it from the thumb drive to the macbook pro? do I drag & drop the file?

In my Downloads on the pc, I notice there is the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.4.dmg file, I know this is the main file to use but I saw 2 other files next to it;

Leopard_X_by_kspudw.rar

and

madFlac.rar

what are these? do I need to install them as well?

thanks for the help to a mac newbie

the .dmg file is like an ISO. It will mount when you double click it, then it will appear in the sidebar of the finder.

Click on it in the finder sidebar and double click on the thing that looks like an installer. It won't be a drag and drop thing like most mac applications.
