I have seen two M1 Mac reviews on YouTube today that said Wacom drivers are currently unavailable. This is wrong. The installer is finicky because it throws up a permissions warning but the drivers work fine after you reapply permissions.

Install the driver, ignore the permissions warning after install and reboot.

To reapply permissions go to Security & Privacy in System Preferences.

Click on the Privacy tab.

Scroll down to Accessibility and recheck com.Wacom.IOManager. You can also right click on it, show the driver in the Finder and drag it back into the Accessibility section.

Next go to Input Monitoring and do the same thing with WacomTabletDriver.

The drivers should now work fine and you can edit your settings in the Wacom Tablet preference pane.

My Mini arrived today. As OP described, the current Wacom Driver work. I had to remove it and install again on Privacy settings, but it worked.

Everything seems OK. Even drawing on iPad apps with my Intuos Pro  (Infinite Painter, it's updated to work with M1 Mac).

Everything it's pretty snappier, specially Corel Painter 2021 (which on Intel is slow when you have some amount of layers) and Artrage 6 (which have slowdowns in tasks like creating or reordering layers). Clip Studio Paint (it's M1 native) it's like a ricochet, it starts almost instantly.

I come from a Mini 2018, but the difference seems more than "only 2 years CPU difference", much much more. And almost all apps are running under Rosetta 2. All apps seems fast as Procreate on iPad. The only software which don't work correctly is Paintstorm Studio, the entire UI is full of glitches; Realistic Paint Studio (the other app from the same creator of Paintstorm Studio) works ok.

Luna Display/Astropad Standard is also much snappier than before. Now I can use it with Retina resolution at 60fps. Sidecar is also more fast than under Intel, but the difference isn't as pronounced as is with Luna, and the Pencil pressure is still very wrong; anyway Luna/Astropad is much faster and better, both in Intel or M1. For drawing with iPad as a drawing monitor for Mac, I recommend Luna Display/Astropad.

Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.

I've spent the last week assuming everything I read about wacom not working on my new M1 was true - found this post and installed it and it works.

AHHHHH the joy.

I hope all is well with you and thank you again.

I second the thanks - Wacom compatibility was the only thing holding back my purchase of the 16/512 M1 MBP.

Never had a Touch Bar before, looking forward to the combination of Photoshop an the Wacom.

I'm not having any luck. The Security warning keeps coming up and I have done all the instructions above but I cannot find the WacomTabletDriver for the Input Monitoring. Where might that be?

Uninstall and reinstall the driver again if it didn’t install all the files.

I knew it would work in the first place because Apple’s videos when they introduced the M1 shows someone using a Wacom Intuos with the M1 mini. The driver was released for Big Sur beta 8 and on the M1 it works through Rosetta because it isn’t a kernel extension driver.

I've followed all your line item steps and I am still unable to connect my Cintiq 21UX DTK 2100... I've installed, uninstalled, and still nothing. Any pointers would be welcome. TIA

Those are Intuos instructions but the final driver is fixed and doesn’t need a reboot either. Need to email Wacom about Cintiq.

Wanted to report a success with M1 MBA on 11.3.1 and my CTL-472 (Wacom One) - 6.3.43-3 works splendidly. Posting this here because the permissions-related stuff is easy to fix, although not exactly intuitive nor documented anywhere.

The installer is a little buggy - nothing Wacom-related was showing up in Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility or Input Monitoring, and the Try Again popup wouldn't go away.

I dragged TabletDriver, WacomTabletDeriver, and WacomTouchDriver from /Applications/Wacom Tablet.localized/.Tablet into both the Accessibility and the Input Monitoring section, and

/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.wacom.IOManager.app into the Accessibility section.

(I do not own an older Wacom so I have not tried), but this repo https://github.com/thenickdude/wacom-driver-fix appears to fix the driver failing to start on 10.15 and 11 with older tablets

There is currently a bug in the Wacom driver that randomly causes a click to register as Command-Click.

If that happens do Command-Tab and it goes back to normal.

Hey guys,

I need to know wheter old wacom drivers will work with the M1 mac's. As an artist, using the wacom is a big part of my job and I have had problems with many combinations of Photoshop and Wacom, where weird little bugs would appear that break my workflow. Currently on my 2017 intel Mac I use wacom driver 6.3.37-3 with Photoshop C2018 which works flawlessly and I would love to know wheter the same combination is usable on the new M1 chip. Thank you so much for your attention and answers!

I have the Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 in and the 2020 M1 Mac mini running Big Sur. Plug the power cord into the right side of the tablet. To get 4K out of the tablet, use the Wacom USB to USB cable that comes with the tablet and plug one end into the top left of the tablet, and the other end into either of the Mac mini Thunderbolt ports. Only the top left of the tablet will give the tablet 4K. The drivers work fine from Wacom. For each message that pops up, open up your preferences in your Mac mini settings, and allow what the messages say. You will have to unlock the lock in your settings. You may need to restart your Mac mini a few times, or do other things like maybe unplug and plug back in the USB cable on the left side of the tablet once for those messages to keep coming up so you can allow them. Wacom phone support helped me. REMEMBER, the Mac mini ONLY supports 2 monitors- so that means your tablet and one more monitor. I tried a dual monitor and tablet setup and it didn't work. You CAN use Sidecar in the Mac mini settings to connect to an 2021 12 in. iPad Pro (or maybe a regular iPad) to get a 3rd monitor.

MacBook Air M1 / macOS 11.6 / Wacom intuos 4 PTK-640 / Wacom driver 6.3.41-2

MacOS recognizes the Wacom intuos in System Report / USB, but Wacom software does not.

I (completely) uninstalled, reinstalled, and manually ensured that the Security & Privacy / Privacy / Accessibility (and Input Monitoring) contain the correct items. I also removed and added these Privacy files again.

And finally, I created a new OS administrator and used that to reinstall the Wacom driver and other software.

Nothing so far has worked.

I have spent several days emailing back and forth with Wacom support.

BTW, if the Wacom driver is installed and working, and the tablet plugged in, will the driver appear in the Activity Monitor list of "All Processes"?? Wacom Desktop Center appears when it is loaded, but no other process seems to be from Wacom.
