There should be a Boot Camp Assistant on your machine, use that to install Windows with.

Easiest way is to create the Windows 10 installer on the USB using the Microsoft tool for it (or download the iso and burn it to the drive but you can't just paste it there).

Then with the USB drive attached, you should be able to boot while holding the Option key until you see the available boot devices. Choose the USB drive and follow the instructions.

If you're not keeping macOS installed you can format the whole drive. Otherwise format the drive first in macOS before you start, although sometimes Windows doesn't like being installed on the same physical drive as another OS these days.

Installing Windows from macOS. Suitable for Hackintosh and Macintosh (install drivers yourself). Possibility to make a backup.
There is no need to create an installation flash drive.
The utilities used are wimlib and ntfs-3g and others.

Disk access must be granted (shown in the screenshot)
There is a drag and drop support function. Compatible with Mac OS X 10.13 and up.
The user must be an administrator and the password must be from the administrator.
Intel only!
Make sure you install Bootcamp drivers on a USB from the Bootcamp assistant in case you need it.
