Hi everyone, I am using my iphone4 and updated with IOS 5.1 and I want to jailbreak my iphone4 .I tried to jailbreak by using redsnow latest software but it says device does not detect while I try to put in DFU mode. So please anyone can help me by giving link or step by step process and easy and safe ways to jailbreak my iphone4. Is there the untethered jailbreak for IOS 5.1? Please please please please help me
Thank you

there isn't, yet, an untethered jailbreak for 5.1...however, if you do some googling there are some very good instructions on how to perform
jailbreaks.

please please please please read them.

You updated your firmware to 5.1 on your iPhone 4 knowing you also wanted to jail break, without doing any homework beforehand !

Their is so much available information on here and by checking out the available information on the internet.

I just have to.........

Your now going to have to wait for a while until the un tethered jb is released sometime in the future, unless you want the tethered version which is a pain in the a$$.

Use this time to do some research as i think your personally gonna need it !

Don't worry, since the tethered jailbreak is already out for iOS 5.1 it's a pretty sure thing that eventually there will also be a successful untethered version. It may be a few months.. so settle in and do some research! Or you could do the tethered jailbreak using Redsn0w 0.9.10b6 if you are iPhone 4 and not 4s. I didn't mind being tethered for a few months... either way you seem ripe for some research!;):)

It is possible to downgrade at all?

You can downgrade to any 4.x.x firmware you have hashes for

To downgrade to 5.0.1, you must have saved the 5.0.1 hash and APTicket files, which must be stitched to an IPSW

Just to make sure- TinyUmbrella would handle that right?

I have shsh's from 4.0.1-5.0.1 on my 4, i.e if I were to upgrade to 5.1, I could down to 5.0.1 if its necessary?

I only mention this since I am considering to tether JB to 5.1 from my JB 5.0.1 since there are a couple little features in 5.1 that would help me a lot.

Restoring to any 4.x.x firmware is simple, iClarified.com has tutorials
Restoring to 5.0.1 is harder Try this
It is for Mac, but the steps are generally the same (except for the Terminal commands part)

Wow, people can be such ***** here sometimes. So the guy is new to this, we were all in his position once. There's no need to insult him with snide remarks when he simply needs someone who can help him. Again, we were all once new to this as well. Help someone out, if not, move on with unnecessary online remarks :)

I give dhlizard a lot of credit for being so helpful. You're a good guy, mate.

And also- I've been jailbreaking my idevices since '07, but... Where would I find my APTickets for 5.0.1?
