iPad How to jailbreak iPad 4.2.1

My iPad 1 is running iOS 4.2.1. Should I jailbreak it straight from 4.2.1, or upgrade it to 4.3 and jailbreak it from a site like jailbreakme.com which seems easy as **** to do? And would jailbreaking it from 4.2.1 require a special program like redsn0w?

Would be easiest to leave it as is and try jailbreakme. You likely can't upgrade to anything but the latest version unless you have Shsh blobs for 4.3. Guessing you don't or you'd already be there.
