How to keep apps visible when swiping between Spaces.

I normally keep 3 desktop Spaces. I like to have an app assigned to each Space. I like to keep them running and open in those Spaces. When I would swipe between Spaces, the app would be there ready to use but lately it is not.

Now, after swiping to another Space, I have to click the app icon in dock to make it appear.

Then, when I swipe back, the other app is not showing. It will only show last app used.

Anyone know how to fix this? I wet through all the settings and can't figure it out. I have Stage Manager turned off, if that matters (turning it on didn't fix it).

I've not seen that behavior. When returning to a space, I'm always presented with the windows exactly how I left them.

I'll keep an eye out and report if I ever see what you're seeing.

Edit... not Single App Mode... but rather this ... I think my option key was stuck.
