how to keep voice iMessages on mac?

I have my iOS devices set to save voice iMessages forever automatically. However, on my Mac, I noticed that if I dont manually press the "keep" button, voice messages disappear after a few minutes. What can I do to make the Mac behave the same as iOS in terms of automatically keeping voice iMessages forever?

I am using Mac OS X 10.11.1
