i have early 2008 white macbook, a caddy and an ssd all in hand, when i opened up the laptop it didnt seem as if the connection from the motherboard was was sata at all...
(bear in mind i am one step up from noob)

the optical drive had a cable stuck/glued to it, however one end of this cable unplugged from the motherboard easily enough, i was too scared to yank on the glued end and put it all back together...

ive looked up loads of videos on this but the camera never shows a macbook that looks quite the same as mine inside so its a bit confusing!

any tips appreciated

it looks as though i was right after all.....

the cable/flex that goes from the m.board to the optical drive/caddy is a different arrangement than esata i think...

heres what i pulled out....

what should i do next?
