Hi. I use VNSea quite a lot with my iPod touch but I have to check my mac's external ip and put it in the app to VNC my mac from the iPod. The problem is that the external ip eventually changes and so I can't use VNSea till I get home and re-check my mac's ext. ip.

I'd like to know how could I get my mac's external ip from the iPod. Any thought?

Assuming you have cable internet and a router, your external IP should not change.

What kind of internet connection do you have?

Would Dynamic DNS be an option? There are automated clients which can keep your IP up to date and accessible.

Unfortunately not true, there are ISPs out there where the IP addresses changes even if it is being renewed by the device. Granted, an always on-router will keep its address with most providers, but any service outage may result in an address change with those too...
