How to legally backup PS2 games on Mac?

Does anybody know how to do this. I found outdated guides online that didn't help much. Do I need to download/purchase any extra software? Thank you.
 
Just do a straight copy in toast titanium. But I'm not sure there is any proper 'legal way' to backup. It's a very grey area.
