I just migrated my files from a Mac Mini 2012 to a Mac Mini 2020. Problem is, I couldn't afford a large enough internal storage drive on the new system, so I offloaded the extra files (mostly photos and movies) to a USB-attached external (SSD) drive.

Now when I try to access those movies, they are not reachable. Specifically I'm using Infuse on a AppleTV device to view the files via an SMB connection. It works fine to the internal drive of the source Mac, but it can't see the files that are on the attached external drive.

I've heard about symlinks but I'm not sure that will work so before I try that route I wondered if that or something else was feasible. Some kind of drive sharing that makes the external drive look like it's really part of the internal drive?

Thanks in advance,
Rob from AZ

Okay...never mind. I got it working by using SFTP instead of SMB. Now I can see all attached volumes via Infuse on the AppleTV platform.
