I have several movies that I and my wife wouldn't like people looking at, Is there a way to put a password on a file, movie on our hard drive? Thanks

Individual files, no.

You can add them to a protected disk image, and access them that way.

Open Disk Utility, choose New Image from the toolbar. Set the name and size to your needs, make sure you choose some kind of encryption (either will work), then hit Create. It will ask for the password.

If you want to change the password later, choose Change password ... from the Image menu.
