How to lower mic volume in LP8?

I'm new with Logic Pro 8 and I can't seem to find where I can lower the amount of volume my microphone takes in. I'm only doing this for fun, I only have the internal mic right now. But I know where it is in garageband but can't find it in LP8. Does anyone know where that option is? When I do louder vocals, it sounds distorts and it's annoying. But it works out quite well in garageband if I lower the mic volume. I want to use LP8 because I just want to try out the different effects and such, but it's kind of annoying if I can't hear it clearly.

I know a better mic would be helpful, but right now I'm low on cash. haha

Either use the system wide audio input level control in System Preferences > Sound > Input or use the manual on page 357ff. .
