Hey I want to replace my dock icons. I know how to replace them but I don't know how to make a back up of them in case I screw something up. Does anyone know how to do this? thanks :)

Haha, I replaced mine yesterday. :)
I did it the more 'simple' way without using the terminal. If you're comfortable with the terminal however, I would recommend you using it but if you're not do it this way: At first you have to make a folder named after your icon. For example:
"Safari icon(s)". After you're done with that, Right or Ctrl click on your icon and then select "duplicate". Then just drag your copy to the folder and you're done. :)
Hope I helped. :)

I usually keep them on the left but it would have been to small to show you so i put them on the bottom for the screenshot.

You may just want to change the icon to a new one for both dock and the finder. I did this with quite a lot of my icons... you and do this with either copy paste in the get info preference thing, or use liteIcon or candybar...
