How to make a backup that can be restored on iOS 8.3 after downgrading?

How do I make a backup that can be restored to iOS 8.3 after downgrading from 8.4? When I make a backup of my 8.4 settings and such, and downgrade to 8.3, it says it cannot restore the 8.4 backup.
