I'm looking to either find a video of a countdown of about 3 minutes or make one, I'd prefer that latter. I really don't know what to use to make one (I don't have AfterEffects, but I do have Final Cut Studio and CS3 Premium). Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance.

iMovie. Type 3:00 and extend for 25 frames, then type 2:59 etc. etc.

Yea, not really the technique I was looking for, but I guess that would work. I was hoping to have milliseconds in the countdown too, like:

minutes:seconds:milliseconds

I was trying to use Flash to do it, but I can only make a countdown to dates. Plus, I don't know how to turn that into a .mov file.

In FCP, set the Timeline timecode to start at 0. Add a color matte or slug to the Timeline for the duration needed. Apply the Timecode Generator filter to the clip. Export as a self-contained movie. Import the resulting file, place it on the Timeline and hit Command j (speed) and click the reverse button.
