How to make a drag and drop folder on desktop for ftp uploader?

Hey all, i'm sort of new to the mac world so i had a question. Is it possible for me to create some sort of folder or icon on the desktop that will allow me to drag files into it and it will automatically upload these files to an ftp server?

Filechute works well with FTP and an iDisk. Drag and drop, will automatically compress (dmg) your file as well if you want it to... my trial version hasn't stopped working.

Possibly worth giving a whirl.
