How to make alarm sound through speaker with headphones in?

I just upgraded to a 3G iPhone and now my alarms do not sound if I have my headphones plugged in (which is always). I seem to remember the alarms sounding through the speaker even if the headphones were plugged in on my old iphone. Is there a setting where I can fix this? I keep missing my alarms and it's a pain to have to unplug my headphones all the time. Help!
