Well you can make an animated gif in Image Ready (or some other programs, depends on what you have)....

I like the one I made earlier:

I'll try it for you, if I fail, I'll post back and have someone else do it. ;) People are good about making avatars here.

thanks for the help

Give him a break. Do you really think everyone that comes to chat about Apple really thinks "Oh I should read the stickies" no I surely didn't think that. And its not like he started his own thread asking that.

PS: sorry to get off topic. And to ask a question on topic... can you make avatars using FlashMX 2004? If so how?

Even more off topic....go Grand Rapids, MI! Hellz yeah! :p :D

Roughly speaking, where do you live runninmac? You are the first person I have seen to come from the west side of Michigan (I too am from GR). I have seen a few MIs on here, but never GR.

Okay, sorry, but I got really excited for a moment.

As far as avatars go, that app linked seems fine but its really quite easy in any program that can crop and resize (filesize). You get an avatar at 500 posts, 75x75 pixels or 19.5kb, whichever is smallest, per the guidelines stated in your UserCP.

To stay OT, I took a trip to Grand Rapids last year. We had a crazy night out there - boy, Grand Rapids natives can drink with the best of them. We'd gone out to meet up with Curt Anes, the ex GV State QB, and then go up to the Saginaw football game. From the little I can remember, Grand Rapids seemed like a great place!

Not to get too off topic, but I grew up in Holland, MI, which is almost close enough to be a suburb. ;) Somewhere on here, I saw at least one person that had Holland, MI as their location. w00t w00t for West MI. :)

Setting aside labels of 'dork' and, well I don't know....but I decided to start this since I got so excited about GR and can't wait to get back home in early July.

Well It looks like we sorta took this way off topic... but thats ok. I live in Rockford MI it i think NorthEast of GR. Its a really growning subburb. Are you going to be going to the Grand Opening of the apple store in Woodland. Its should be sometime in July says ifoapplestore.com.

Wow, even more GR related comments, I'm glad I decided to start the thread. At the rate this is going (keeping it as the steady average of two posts per minute which I'm confident will keep up for at least....4 minutes :p ) I predict this will be the best thread EVAR! :p

Not really, but go and read and post there anyway if you have been there...or close to. Holland...I'll hold my comments on 'you folk' :D

:D *points left* At least, if that's the place I think it is, it is.... :)

Hahaha, was wondering what prompted the avatar change mkrishnan.

That is indeed GR, picture of one of the lighted bridges with the Van Andel museum in the background.

I actually have another 'tar idea from my photography...so I'll make another switch soon. :)

You took that shot? Very nice.

As I said, lighted bridges with VA Museum in the background. The dome-top is for the carosil (sp?...those things that go round with up/down horses and tigers) which is pretty sweet and cheesy/childish romantic on occasion for dates ;) Oh yeah buddy..check it out, she'll like it.

as i look at this thread, i just now realized something. animated .gifs are not working in safari. they are not moving. They look fine on my pc but not here. Is there a setting or sumthing that i need checked that i'm missing.

Ooops, no. That shot I stole from google images. But I think I might use something I took next.

Oh I see, wouldn't neccesarily surprised me however the shot did look very setup and had the almost overly-professional feel to it ;)

Nice angle and everything, have to see if I can get that when I get back home.

Someone needs to take a photo of Grand Rapids and turn it into an avatar so we can get this thread back on freakin' topic...

I think the problem is that based on the initial question, the thread died a few lines ago and there isn't much that is going to bring it back....probably needs to be killed more than it needs to be brought back on topic.

Ever get that to workout? I was hoping for a little preview of it, seemed like it could have been pretty cool.
