So I am trying to force myself stop being addicted to my iPhone, as a result, I took a very minimal approach and kept just two widgets on homescreen (the latest book I currently read and battery widget for my Airpods which I use as hearing aids) and only one folder that has an invisible icon on the first page and apps with critical notifications on the second page (Phone, Messages, Mail, etc).

I would love to make the folder icon totally invisible, but I've no idea how to do it and if it's even possible on iOS 18. I have tried searching all over the web, YouTube and Reddit, but whatever I find is outdated and not working anymore.

Is there still a workaround?

Thank you in advance!

It's not possible to make the folder invisible. You could potentially set up focus modes to accomplish something similar to what you're wanting to do.
  • Create a Home Screen page with only the widgets.
  • Create a second Home Screen page that has the apps (could also put the same widgets on this page too).
  • Set up focus modes to show/hide those home screens page.
So for example, when you're in a certain focus mode, you can have only the page with the widgets showing. When the focus mode is off (or in a different focus mode), then you can have the widgets and apps showing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this! I'll definitely try your suggestion!
