I have 'show item info' checked for my desktop view options in a non-admin account, but it only shows the disk capacity, and not the free space as well. Is there a way this can be enabled?

If I do Apple-I on my HDD, it shows the free space so it can't be that there are insufficient priviledges to calculate the space available.

Thanks for your help.

is this on a different drive or partition than the HD you can already see the info on?

Nope, main internal HDD on my MBP. It has a single Mac partition

Blue background is under my admin account; yellow is in the non admin account. As you can see, the non-admin account doesn't show free space, only the size of the disk.

I hope no-one minds me bumping this back onto page 1 - can anyone offer any advice? Is it just an undocumented feature I'll have to live with?

Thanks for any help!
