how to make the MacBook Air's Apple logo flash?

I saw this on someone's MacBook Air at the airport last month. At the time, I wasn't even considering getting a MacBook Air, so I didn't bother asking the girl how she manged to get that Apple logo flash. To be honest, I thought it was pretty annoying because she was sitting directly across from me. :D It was a slow once per second flash. I assume it's some kind of hack? (or was her MBA trying to signal for help?)
 
It's just a hole.

The light is coming from the screen backlight. If her Apple logo was flashing then so was her screen.

nvm, I found out that there's a flashing LED pad in the shape of the Apple logo.... $49 on AliExpress, which is a bit steep to see the Apple flash, no? crazy Chinese companies... what will they think of next?
 
Why would anyone want the logo to flash all of the time? Seems like they're also the people who want giant arrows pointed at them so the world knows they own a Mac.

Asians love gold, they got gold rolls royces, and gold commodes. Don't follow them.
