Hi,
i'm running snow leopard and windows 7 in boot camp on a macbook pro 13" unibody. I use delete a lot as I use windows for CAD software and pressing fn + backspace is getting annoying. How do I map the backspace key to work as delete and map the eject CD key as backspace?

cheers

Thanks,

works perfect for changing the backspace key to delete but even tho it has a features designed just for the eject key mapping backspace to that didnt work. bit annoying that I can only have one or the other.

You might want to try an external keyboard like the full-sized Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. I believe it has backspace and delete, as well as home, end, pg up, pg down.

As of 2019, the Key Tweak download can be found at https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/keytweak/ if you are running Windows on your Mac, and want to re-map a key to give you separate keys for DELETE and BACKSPACE

It works great! I'm using a Macbook Pro running Windows 10 under BootCamp. Using the 'Half Teach Mode', I was able to re-map the F12 key (Key Code #123) on the MacBook keyboard, to be a Windows 'Delete' key (Key Code #76) in the Windows registry. After making the change and rebooting, it worked great. I'll never miss the F12 key itself, and the FN-F12 which controls Up-Volume, still works. Next I corrected Apple's stubborn and persistent Mac 'design flaw' and put a nice label saying BACK SPACE over the Mac DELETE key, and a DEL label above the F12 key. The world is right again.
