I just bought a new M1 MBP, but it only has 256GB SSD. It's on BS 11.1

I have an external drive with 1.82TB of music AND THE iTUNES MUSIC LIBRARY (size: 4GB) on the same external drive - under my old computer with High Sierra. So when I play music from my old computer, both the library location and the music files is pointed to the external drive.

Now I would like to duplicate the same situation for my MBP - I would like to play music from my external drive and leave BOTH the music files and the music library on the external drive (the itunes music library alone is 4GB) on Big Sur.

How do I accomplish that?

Thank you everybody!

OK, never mind :)...

I figured it out. Sorry, I'm a dummy - the keyboard on the MBP behaves differently than under High Sierra on my iMac and that's what stopped me from "choose library" when pressing the key of "option" and click "open".
